Lake Region Teacher Center

The Lake Region Teacher Center (LRTC) will provide area teachers with opportunities to attend in-service training sessions, enroll in college classes for credit, observe programs in other schools, and utilize programs and materials developed by other professionals and agencies. By providing these opportunities we believe educators have a better chance to develop to their full potential, local educational systems can be strengthened, and higher quality education can be delivered to all students.

Teacher Visitation Grant
The Lake Region Teacher Center has a grant available for teachers to observe colleagues in the classroom. This funding is intended to pay for a substitute teacher and one day of travel expenses (in-state) in order for an instructor to leave his or her classroom to observe a master teacher.

 

Educational resources and materials are available for member check-out through the LRTC Media Center. As the former High School Principal and current Superintendent at Dakota Prairie Schools, I have witnessed first-hand the benefits of the NESC’s Succeed 2020 program. These benefits range from technology assistance, data retrieval, professional development analyzing data, and support. In the time I have been at DP, we have transitioned to a one-to-one school, implemented data teams at both campuses, implemented a data intervention time with our students, and begun wrestling with best practices in regards to classroom teaching and data usage. All of these improvements are due directly to the assistance and guidance allowed to us by the NESC’s Succeed 2020 Grant.
