Educator Observation Grant

The NESC Educator Observation Grant provides a valuable opportunity for educators to engage in targeted professional development through direct classroom observations of colleagues.  This grant aims to support teacher growth and enhance instructional practices by fostering a culture of peer learning. By observing teaching and learning in a colleague’s classroom, educators can gain new perspectives, identify areas for their own professional improvement, and gather innovative strategies to enhance student learning experiences. This grant encourages educators to step outside their own classrooms and collaborate with peers, creating a supportive environment for ongoing learning and a greater shared understanding of effective teaching practices.
Grant funding reimburses schools for substitute teacher costs and educator mileage related to approved one-day, in-state observation visits (maximum one award per educator per school year).

Educators seeking an NESC Educator Observation Grant are asked to discuss the opportunity with their school principal prior to applying. Interested and eligible educators are invited to submit applications using the provided form below.

Educators who have been awarded an NESC Educator Observation Grant are required to submit a Summary Report using the linked form below within two weeks after the observation.
